The logo/App icon research

After a countless hours of constructive brainstorming, we decided that our next game will be called Prize Fiesta.

As it is a festive name, we needed to create a logo that is attractive and colourful! So we decided to add the colours of the rainbow and a touch of gold!

Designing your App icon is not an easy task.

The first things you need to understand when setting out to create your icon is what exactly an app icon is and what job it has to perform. An app icon is a visual anchor for your product. You can think of it as a tiny piece of branding that not only needs to look attractive and stand out, but ideally also communicate the core essence of your application.

The 5 Core Aspects that you must respect :

- Scalability

- Recognisability

- Consistency

- Uniqueness

- Don’t Use Words

Our graphic designers spent more than 7 days looking for the perfect combination and our decision was unanimous. The rainbow gift App icon was the obvious choice.

Shaping a sleek, unified image of your app in your users’ minds increases product satisfaction, retention and virality.

Alternatives design ideas we came up with:

An effective app icon is like a catchy song, and being able to identify it should be easy in amongst all the noise of the store or your home-screen. This is a key component to a great icon design. Like the verse of a song, it needs to resonate with the listener, so do the shapes, colours and ideas of an app icon. The design needs to craft a sense of memory and connection on both a functional and an emotional level.

We created an alternative logo showing one of the dwarves offering a gift as Prize Fiesta delivers gifts to its players.
